The Challenge: A Digital Desert and Operating in the Dark
The starting point was a digital desert. Our client, a seller of high-quality wood pellets, had a modern online store that generated virtually no sales. With only 1-2 random orders per month, its potential was completely untapped. The website lacked any analytical tools—no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, and no event tracking. Every dollar spent on marketing would have been an investment with no way to measure its return. Without a solid analytical foundation, scaling sales was impossible.
The Strategy: Foundations, Precision, and Gaining Momentum
Our approach was methodical and divided into three strategic phases to ensure stable, measurable growth.
Phase I: Building the Foundation (Analytics from Scratch)
This was the most critical step. Before spending a single dollar on ads, we implemented comprehensive analytics:
- Google Tag Manager: To efficiently manage all scripts.
- Google Analytics 4: To track traffic and conversions, including key events like "add to cart" and "purchase."
- Meta Pixel: Essential for future campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and for building custom audiences.
This gave us full insight into user behavior and enabled us to make decisions based on hard data.
Phase II: Launching the Sales Engine (Google Ads)
With a solid foundation in place, we launched precisely configured Google Ads campaigns:
- Performance Max Campaign: Focused on maximizing conversions, it reached users actively searching for wood pellets, driving direct sales.
- Brand Search Campaign: This protected the brand name and captured the most valuable traffic from users already familiar with the company.
Phase III: Building Momentum (Expansion to Meta Ads)
After 3 months, seeing the spectacular results from Google Ads, the client enthusiastically agreed to further investment. We expanded our efforts to the Meta platform (Facebook and Instagram) to build a broader marketing funnel, reach new audience segments, and run effective remarketing campaigns.
